DEVELOPING
To start the week we decided to first synthesise our research findings we acquired through speed dating and interviewing. We combined all of the feedback we received from our target audience and identified 3 different directions in which we could improve our project. They mentioned that the design could be improved through implementing the competitive aspect, more control and options and adding the possibility of engaging through our platform. We decided to address the latter through the implementation of the forum, where people could communicate and share opinions.

Bearing in mind all of the above we started to develop our user journey in order to put the idea into a visual and coherent form. This helped us a lot in improving our understanding of where we have gaps and what needs more work.

As well as finalising our user journey we split up to continue working on the AR and the website. Qendresa and Maria began working on visualising the website while Tatiana and me were developing the AR.

TUTORIAL
To share our progress we attended a tutorial with John, where he pointed out something we failed to consider so far which is the log-in/sign-up system. He challenged us to reconsider that decision and mentioned a different way of saving one’s progress on the platform without capturing their identity. When thinking about it, I realised that I myself find it a little annoying having to give my email to someone and then receiving lots of promotional emails. Hence we decided to use a password generating system to overcome this struggle.
CONSULTING
Upon completing our basic visualisations we started struggling with wrapping our heads around how all of our ideas could be developed into a high-fi prototype. Hence, I suggested that we could benefit from a drop-in session with the Creative Technology Lab to address our struggles. They suggested 2 different software Adobe Aero and Unity. However, upon completing a workshop on Unity, we realised that it is very hard software to learn and asked whether there would be other options. They directed us to the Digital Lab drop-in, which was very helpful. They sent us materials that could help to better understand Adobe After Effects for our animations and said that everything we want to do can be easily achieved through Adobe Aero. We started experimenting straight away.

EXPERIMENTING
I decided to challenge myself and start experimenting with Adobe After Effects to visualise the unfolding of the paper plane into an article. I’ve always wanted to familiarise myself with that software and this was a great opportunity to do so. I relied a lot on the video tutorial. However, I still learnt lots of different functions and features to use in the future. Meanwhile, Tatiana started experimenting with Adobe Dimension and Adobe Aero.

PRESENTATION FEEDBACK
After the presentation, we received a lot of useful and constructive feedback and were able to make decisions on certain aspects of our design with the help of our peers. Later on we have also attended a tutorial with John and Alaistair. Overall, considering both sessions, we were advised that the forum is a good concept for future development, but at this stage they urged us to think about the depth of our information organisation and navigation through it. Furthermore, we were advised to think about our paper planes metaphor to adjust it in a way that would give them more purpose.
